Early Disability Action Plan

The aim of the Early Support for Work Capacity approach is to identify and address work capacity challenges as early as possible. The aim is to support the employee's ability to cope and prevent longer periods of sickness absence or disability.

The early support approach is based on open interaction, trust and a common goal: a well-working and fit workforce.

Early disability support is not only responsible HR management - it is also a business investment. We help companies build early support practices that work, are measurable and have real impact.

We offer expert support for the design, implementation and development of early support models. Our work is based on solid expertise in working life and work ability management and a practical, solution-oriented approach.

When is early support needed?

The need for early support can be indicated by, for example:

  • Repeated or prolonged sickness absences
  • Poor performance, carelessness or lack of motivation
  • Changes in behaviour or coping
  • Workplace concerns about employee well-being
  • Personal or life management challenges such as being late, drunk or hungover

It's important that your manager or colleagues pick up on the situation as early as possible - a good discussion can be the turning point

The development of a substance abuse programme can be a natural part of an early support model. Although it is not specifically required by law, it is strongly recommended as a support for well-being and health and safety at work. The Occupational Safety and Health Act obliges employers to prevent the risks of substance abuse at work.

If drug testing is to be used in the workplace, for example during recruitment or on the job, the substance abuse programme should be put in writing and its procedures clearly defined. In these cases, the programme is not just a recommendation, but a prerequisite for responsible action.

Many companies only react to work capacity challenges when the employee is already on long sick leave or on the verge of losing capacity. Our aim is to move in a proactive direction: work capability challenges can often be resolved more easily and effectively when they are identified early
