Previously, occupational safety was not the responsibility of the port company, but the shared workplace obligation changed the situation. A small organization did not have the capacity to handle all occupational safety, environmental, and quality system tasks with its own resources.

ATEX is an established part of safety thinking in industry, and in Kokkola it is now being actively incorporated into school construction – especially in science, woodworking, and metalworking classrooms, where there are real explosion hazards.
