Level I - Top of the world - Protect wins for the third time in a row
The Zero Accidents Forum is a voluntary network of Finnish workplaces that aims to continuously promote safety at work and disseminate good practices. The Zero Accident Forum comprises 450 workplaces, and the criteria for the level classification have been created in cooperation with the member workplaces. The ranking is influenced by factors such as the frequency and severity of accidents at work. In addition, the investigation of accidents at work and the reporting of incidents must be in place.
- This year, 33 of the 87 workplaces that were graded achieved the zero accident target. This is more than ever before," says Anna Melleri, VR Group's Risk Management Manager and Chair of the Zero Accident Forum Steering Group. This year Protect was awarded a level I rating - Top of the World for the third year in a row. "We are a specialist company, so the risk of accidents at work is naturally lower, despite the fact that we also work in industrial environments. We want to set an example in how occupational hazards are taken into account in staff training and how information on health and safety issues is an integral part of our work community's health and safety cooperation," says Protect's Business Director Miia Laakso, who is also the company's Health and Safety Manager.
Rapid response and agile risk management actions helped the expert organisation to succeed even in a period of high interest rates
Many workplaces have reported successes in keeping the coronavirus under control and avoiding infections.- Last spring, Protect set up a coronavirus working group, which meets regularly through Teams, to react to changing situations and draw up internal guidelines based on risk assessment. "It has been great to see that despite the corona outage, the workplaces have been able to continue their traditional safety work. We have also developed new ways of carrying out safety training and joint risk assessments. Many of these good practices are sure to become a permanent part of the new normal in safety work," says Anna Melleri. Discover Protect as a company Would you like to be the next Protect?
