Entrepreneurs of Kokkola and the City of Kokkola have selected the following as Entrepreneur of the Year 2018
Pertti Salon and
SK Protect Oy.. – This recognition warms my heart, and I truly appreciate it. In previous years, this award has been given to some very notable companies. It’s great that we’ve been able to join their ranks, says
Managing Director Pertti Salo. SK Protect Oy’s growth into the country’s leading player in its field has been steady and purposeful. SK Protect Oy also deserves praise for its strong commitment to development: one-third of its approximately two million in revenue is allocated to operational development, and the company has participated in numerous development initiatives and Tekes projects. SK Protect Oy currently employs 18 full-time and about ten part-time experts. The company has offices in Helsinki, Pietarsaari, Kokkola, and Tampere, but its clients are located throughout Finland: from the Käsivarsi region to Helsinki and from the west coast to Eastern Finland. The client base also includes several large Finnish organizations. This is not the first recognition SK Protect Oy has received. In 2011, the company won the INNOSUOMI 2011 award presented by the President of the Republic, and in 2016, it received the Digiloikka Award from the Chamber of Commerce. When an award is given from one entrepreneur to another, Salo believes it’s always a big deal. “I started my career in the public sector, but even while I was at the emergency services academy, it became clear that I have a knack for sales and an entrepreneurial spirit. Maybe it’s something that’s always been in my blood.” My respect for other entrepreneurs significantly enhances the value of this award. This recognition is also significant for the entire staff of SK Protect Oy, and I’d like to thank all of our employees as well.
