SK Protect Oy takes part in the transformation of working life in a new TV series on Yle in September

SK Protect Oy will be involved in the series, which will be broadcast on Yle TV1 in early September. The eight-part factual reality series In Transition tells stories about the ongoing transformation of companies and working life brought about by digitalisation.

Protect is an expert organisation in safety, quality and environmental management, which has developed the browser-based PRO24 safety management system. Today, the system is already in use in around 250 organisations across Finland. In 2016, the company was awarded the Nordic Digiloikka award. "The system shows how we ourselves use digitalisation, but also how digitalisation works between us and our customers," says Pertti Salo, Managing Director of SK Protect Oy. The series illustrates the importance of trust, cooperation and networking and is linked to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment's Work Life 2020 project coordinated by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. The project encourages and inspires workplaces to develop their practices and culture to make Finnish working life the best in Europe in 2020. The series tells the story of eight different SMEs and their staff. All the companies featured in the series are united by modern, changing working life and personalised arrangements, the digital age business culture and the change it brings. Protect is the northernmost of the companies in the series and the only one with its headquarters in the Ostrobothnia region. "We at Protect have had a digital culture for a long time and our work has changed to the point where experts need to be able to manage their own customer relationships and projects, regardless of location. They therefore have the opportunity to influence their own time management and to organise their work to suit their family life, for example through flexible working hours or hour banks. This brings flexibility but also a different kind of responsibility for the workers," says Salo. The TV series will be broadcast on Yle TV1 on Saturdays from 1 September 2018 at 10.45 am. All episodes of the series will also be available on YLE Arena from 2 September. For more information about the series and the Working Life 2020 project: www.tyoelama2020.fi/murroksessa
