The pieces have fallen into place – Protect the new year strong
The results of our persistent and long-term efforts are beginning to show in various areas of Protect’s operations. Protect’s shield remained intact despite the turmoil caused by the pandemic, and the company stayed on track with its goals and within its planned budget even during the most challenging times. This strong performance is the sum of successes across many different areas. —Our sales have been performing exceptionally well throughout the year. We invested in modern remote conferencing facilities and equipment years ago. The latest upgrade was carried out as planned even before the pandemic and was completed just before the nationwide “digital leap.” So we were fully prepared to transition to a new way of doing business and conducting meetings remotely,” says Pertti Salo, CEO of Protect. The digital leap has also boosted sales of the PRO24 system. This “shake-up” of ideas and ways of working has helped customers realize the true benefits of PRO24 in practice. When restrictions and recommendations went into effect, companies found themselves in a situation where many tasks that had been handled in person had to be reorganized. Expanded use of PRO24 has been the solution for many customers. —The benefits of the PRO24 system are now being felt in concrete terms. It allows quality and safety matters to be managed remotely from anywhere. All up-to-date information is available in one place to the users who need it at that very moment. The system makes it easy to share information through access rights at different levels: with staff, stakeholders, and customers.
Protect's reputation as an employer is also on the rise
Protect is constantly recruiting new experts. At the beginning of 2020, five new employees joined the company. The company also expanded its operations abroad and established a subsidiary in Estonia. In Finland, Protect already operates in four locations and will open a new office in Oulu in February. The company’s top-tier expertise and its precise and meticulous approach are recognized among its clients. However, its operating methods have also been noticed elsewhere. The way Protect implements its operations on a practical level and adapts to the varying circumstances and resources of different companies has also made an impression on job seekers. Employees see the tangible results of their work every day. This may be one reason why there has been a clear change in the number of open positions at Protect and the caliber of applicants. —It’s great to see that our job seekers also appreciate our way of working. The meaningfulness of work is important, and we’ve succeeded in communicating that effectively to the outside world.
Demand for outsourced management services is growing
For successful companies, it is important that all aspects of business operations are handled in accordance with laws and regulations. As legislation becomes more extensive and demanding, companies may no longer have the internal resources to manage these matters. For this reason, outsourced management services are seen as a good solution: operations remain fully compliant with the law at all times, and there’s no need to worry about liabilities. —The idea of purchasing outsourced services often comes up when a company is conducting collective bargaining, implementing organizational changes, or dealing with retirements. An outsourced manager may seem like a strange idea at first, but in practice, they function within the company just like any other employee. Development of the learning environment and a large-scale website overhaul Without sales and systematic marketing, it is difficult to achieve growth. To support this growth, Protect implemented a large-scale website redesign in 2020 that highlights Protect’s brand identity more clearly than ever. Most of the content was updated, and the services were restructured. A clear marketing strategy was developed and has been strictly followed. —Visually appealing websites serve as our storefront, and when well-designed, they function as an excellent sales tool. A good marketing plan, in turn, supports sales at exactly the right moments. We’re also launching a new learning environment in early 2021. We already have exam tools in place, but we’re expanding the learning environment to better support onboarding, skills development, and training as well.
