4H Taimiteko is the Responsible Action of the Year - a project for youth employment and the climate

At Protect, the aim of sponsorship is to make a concrete difference and be an active and responsible part of society. This autumn, we sponsored, for example, the Kokkola 4H association, which uses the support to purchase safety equipment for projects that employ young people. One of these projects is Taimiteko, a project of the Finnish 4H Association, which was chosen as the winner of the Central Chamber of Commerce's Responsibility Project of the Year competition. Sustainable development is and actions to promote it are part of 4H's everyday life, and young people work every day in their 4H activities to mitigate climate change," says Tomi Alakoski, CEO of the Finnish 4H Federation. The Taimiteko model combines ecological and social responsibility. Taimiteo takes concrete measures to offset carbon dioxide emissions. The aim is to plant 10 000 hectares of new forest by 2030.

We award sponsorship grants on the basis of applications received twice a year. We selected the following organisations from among the applicants for sponsorship in the autumn:

• IF Brahe Orienteering Division (ÖID) - Ekorrstigsfinalen
• Hermes U11 junior team
• Kokkola 4H Association
• SC Kokkola T18
• West Coast Ultra Run - Kokkola Ultra Run VIII
