Oy M. Rauanheimo Ab is a leading Finnish port operator that has grown rapidly in recent years. The company is part of the KWH Logistics group and operates in all deep-water ports in Finland, being the largest operator of dry bulk handling and transit traffic.
Rauanheimo's long-standing cooperation with Protect currently includes the outsourced HSEQ expert service and the services of an occupational health and safety manager in some locations.

Developing a culture of safety together based on the best expertise
Veera Liukkonen, Protect's safety and quality expert Veera Liukkonen, who has been the occupational safety manager of Rauanheimo's Vuosaari operations since 2017, says she is always happy to visit the customer.
-"I have always felt that I am one of the Rauanheimers and I feel that my expertise and knowledge is of real benefit to the client. As a permanent health and safety manager, I carry out various tasks related to health and safety, quality and human resources management and bring additional resources to day-to-day management and operational development.
The legal requirements and the criteria set out in the various standards together form a comprehensive list of things to spend time maintaining, but also make continuous improvement possible. Developing in small steps and involving staff is one of the best aspects of this work. The work is done so that employees can go home from work every day in good health and so that management can feel that they are truly accountable.
