Outsourced expertise in occupational health and safety management is a flexible and cost-effective way for companies to develop a safety culture. Kokkola Energia and Protect have been working closely together for years in the framework of outsourced expertise and management services, and the energy company has also been involved in the development of the PRO24 system over the long term.

Expertise and PRO24 used in a wide range of ways
The cooperation between Kokkolan Energia and Protect started in 2009. At that time, Protect drew up an emergency plan for both power plants, the heating plants and the head office.
Over the years, Protect has provided Kokkolan Energia with the services of a safety coordinator and an occupational safety manager, among others. Currently, Protect is involved in the operation through an outsourced HSEQ expertise service, providing its client with up-to-date information and operating models, as well as assistance in development.
Mikko Rautaoja, who works as a maintenance engineer at power plants, has been involved from the start in developing PRO24 to suit the needs of the energy company.
-PRO24 today includes our chemical management and occupational risk assessments. We use the reporting section to record all safety and quality incidents, as well as initiatives to improve safety and production. In addition, the widely used PRO24 HSEQ Desktops module is a great way to share information with our staff and partners.
The notification section works flexibly
According to Rautaoja, PRO24 has been constantly evolving. New modules have been added and user-friendliness and reporting have improved. He praises the new notification section above all for its flexibility, as notifications can be made on mobile devices with pictures right at the event location. PRO24 also plays an important role in ensuring that notifications and initiatives are properly handled from one stage to the next, until the system acknowledges that each case has been dealt with.
