Mia Hautala as Safety and Quality Specialist at Protect

In January, we strengthened our expert team by 2 people. Mia Hautala started as a specialist in the Kokkola office.

Mia Hautala, a long-time public official, was looking for a change and new challenges in her work. She started at Protect as a Safety and Quality Specialist in January 2022. In her previous work, Mia has worked in various roles in the customer interface in environmental health authority tasks such as health protection, food and environmental inspector.- I saw Protect's advertisement and was interested in an interesting position. Safety and quality work is close to my heart and matches my professional skills. Actually, I initially applied for another position that was open at Protect, but as the process progressed we realised that my strengths would be best in the customer interface. - I was pleased to find during the recruitment process that Protect values its employees and that everyone has the freedom to design their own work. I wanted to work at Protect because I feel that the work we do here is meaningful.

Mia is an environmental engineer by training and is also very interested in environmental issues. Her strengths include being organised and sociable - working with people and interacting with them is the lifeblood of the job! I find it really rewarding, for example, to make my interlocutors understand something difficult that needs to be done. - During my career, I have also become used to writing and interpreting reports and statements. So I have experience of the very things that Protect's client organisations often need their partners to help them with. Mia, a native Swedish speaker, already has an impressive work history. She has also worked in Spain for 2 years in English. In the future, Mia wants to work in a variety of specialist jobs and learn new things. It is therefore natural to want to constantly renew and deepen her knowledge. However, knowledge is always changing. Mia says it was easy to join the team: "I was warmly welcomed and I feel very welcome," she says. Miia Laakso, Protect's Business Director, is pleased with the new additions to the team of experts.
