Introducing our safety and quality expert: Jouni Ruupunen Biotechnology expert joins the HSEQ expert team

Jouni Ruupunen, who joined Protect's expert team last spring, works as a safety and quality expert. at the Tampere office. Jouni's journey to Protect started a few years ago with the PRO24 system. Read more and check out Jouni's story at Protect!

- I saw an advertisement on LinkedIn for a job opening at Protect and decided to apply. I had already used Protect's PRO24 system in the chemical industry and so it seemed natural to apply to Protect. The versatility and scope of the job attracted my interest," says Jouni.

As a safety and quality expert, your working days vary widely.

- Sometimes we visit the client for an audit or other checks. We also often have remote meetings with clients. We also do a lot of independent work in the office. Currently, my job description includes being an outsourced quality manager for a client company, maintaining the chemical system and PRO24 deployments. The job description is very varied and meaningful.

Our expert sees the legislation evolving in a more responsible direction and the needs of companies growing. In occupational health and safety, the emphasis is not only on traditional occupational health and safety, but also on well-being at work. Companies want to invest more and more in these issues, these are important to them. Awareness of HSEQ issues has increased and needs have grown.

- Protect plays a key role in supporting businesses. Many companies, particularly in the manufacturing sector, seek assistance in dealing with the authorities and developing HSEQ activities. We at Protect offer our extensive knowledge and support to meet the different needs of companies," Jouni explains.

Working on important issues is rewarding. In the Protect team, everyone supports each other and help is always available when you ask for it. Protect has a great team where everyone is different but united by a common goal and passion. The work community is supportive and working with clients is really rewarding. A well-functioning work community is an important asset at work. A supportive and helpful community increases motivation and working together makes for a rewarding working day.

- In the future, I see opportunities to specialise and develop as a specialist. The company will support me in achieving my goals and provide the keys to achieve them. I keep my mind open to the possibilities of moving in different directions and look forward to future challenges.

Flexible working hours and the hybrid model create opportunities to reconcile your everyday life and work, creating a balance. Jouni says he very much enjoys working in an office, but also appreciates the possibility of flexible working and remote working.

Our safety and quality expert also knows how to let loose - frisbee golf is a great way to spend your free time and to reset your thoughts and stress. - I feel I am in the right place right now. I enjoy working on different projects, learning new things, working with clients and colleagues - on important issues.
