Pirre Laitala joins Protect as Safety and Quality Specialist
Pirre Laitala, who is studying to become an engineer in Industrial Engineering, was a project coordinator at Protect during the beginning of the year. After her internship, she was hired as a safety and quality expert in the Kokkola office.
- I'm a career changer and I'm about to graduate this year as a production economics engineer. My internship at Protect made it clear to me that developing safety and quality management are the things I want to develop in my career," Pirre reflects.
Before studying engineering, Pirre worked in the health sector for more than 10 years. The change seemed natural, as she has always been interested in technology. In her engineering studies, she has focused on developing skills in safety and quality management.
- Experts often work with difficult and challenging issues. But I try to remember that even when things are difficult, the work is done for people.
Pirres was seen as having the potential to grow into an expert. During the training, it was noticed that he is a quick learner and gets on well with people. Pirre is therefore grateful that Protect has supported her learning and given her the opportunity to grow.
- I didn't hesitate for a moment when I was offered a job at Protect. Working with experienced professionals has enabled me to learn effectively.
As an expert, Pirre has worked on projects related to fire safety and occupational safety. She has also contributed to internal development projects within the company.
- At the same time, I'm finishing my final thesis, which is part of my studies, on how to improve project management using Lean in professional work," he says.
Pirre likes a job that is challenging and keeps her constantly on the move. She is motivated by successes and good feedback from customers. He thinks that customers are the best part of his job. "I'm not afraid of challenges! With an open mind and a positive attitude, you can go a long way," Pirre laughs. You can always count on the support of your colleagues.
