PRO24 makes the necessary safety information easily available
The Port of Kokkola is the third largest general port in Finland in terms of traffic. With Protect's safety management system PRO24, the necessary information is conveniently available to all port employees in one place. No longer having to search for information in the same way as before frees up time for other work.
Most of the traffic in the Port of Kokkola is bulk cargo, raw materials and concentrates.
-We also have regular container and transit traffic. Liquid chemicals are still transported in quite significant quantities," says the Development Manager of the Port of Kokkola. Jyrki Roukala. 
Above all, PRO24 has freed up our time resources
Protect and the Port of Kokkola have been working together for about ten years. PRO24 is a comprehensive system that includes a wide range of elements related to different levels of safety.
-PRO24 has, above all, freed up our time resources and reduced the time spent searching for information. Things are now in one place and can be found by everyone in the same way," says Roukala.
-I have come across a claim somewhere that on average 16% of people's working time is spent looking for information. I believe that with PRO24 we have been able to reduce the time spent searching for information by having all the information in one place," says Roukala.
As well as being in one place, PRO24 makes information easy to find and share. This supports internal communication within the port.
-"This is a concrete and easy way to communicate and share information," says Roukala.
From customer to partnership
According to Roukala, the cooperation between Protect and the Port of Kokkola started out as a so-called normal customer relationship. Over the years, however, the cooperation has deepened into a mutual partnership.
-"We have taken significant steps towards building this into a partnership," says Roukala.
-PRO24 requires us to communicate and evolve continuously. It may never be ready. It's more about the continuous development work we will be doing," Roukala stresses.
