Assess your company’s occupational safety status

Wondering how well occupational safety is managed in your company?
Take our free self-assessment to get a picture of where your company stands on occupational safety and to identify possible areas for improvement.

The assessment helps you see which key areas of occupational safety your workplace already covers and where your practices may need a closer look.

Choose the right self-assessment for your company

There are two versions of the occupational safety self-assessment, so that the questions better match different working environments.

The self-assessment for office and expert work is intended for organisations where the work is mainly office or expert work.

The self-assessment for manufacturing contains a broader set of questions that also covers areas of occupational safety specific to production environments, such as machinery, work equipment and the use of chemicals.

The questionnaires therefore differ somewhat in content and scope. Choose the version that best matches your company’s operating environment.

Who is the self-assessment for?

The self-assessment is particularly useful for organisations doing office and expert work that want an overall picture of their current occupational safety situation and to identify possible areas for improvement.

The questionnaire is most useful for someone who has a good overall view of the company’s occupational safety practices, responsibilities and documentation. This could be, for example, the occupational safety manager, HSEQ/EHS manager, an HR representative, the CEO or another member of management or a supervisor.

If needed, the questionnaire can also be completed together with others involved in occupational safety.

If your company operates in manufacturing, or your work involves production machinery and chemicals, we recommend choosing the manufacturing self-assessment.

What does the self-assessment cover?

The questionnaire covers the key areas of occupational safety from the perspective of office and expert work:

  • occupational safety cooperation
  • hazard identification and risk assessment
  • reporting near misses, dangerous incidents and accidents
  • occupational health care and the workplace survey
  • occupational safety metrics and management
  • induction
  • training
  • machinery and equipment
  • work clothing and personal protective equipment
  • practices at shared workplaces

What kind of assessment will I get?

You will receive a brief, indicative assessment of the occupational safety situation at your workplace by email.

The assessment can help you identify what is already at a good level, as well as topics that may be worth examining more closely as part of developing occupational safety.

Please note that the assessment does not replace an official assessment of the current state of occupational safety carried out by an expert.

Set aside some time for the questionnaire

The questionnaire contains quite a few questions and looks at occupational safety from several different perspectives.

You will get the most out of it by answering based on the actual situation at your workplace.

Completing the questionnaire is free of charge and does not commit you to anything.
