Webinar recording | The role of the health and safety manager in company development

HSEQ expert at work in the port area.

What is the role of the health and safety manager in the development of the company? The health and safety manager represents the company's management, is responsible for implementing the company's strategy and objectives in health and safety matters and reports on health and safety issues to the management team, among others. The health and safety manager therefore acts as an important link between management, staff and other stakeholders in matters relating to health and safety. The tasks of the health and safety manager include:

  • organise, maintain and develop cooperation between the employer and employees
  • assist in the acquisition of health and safety expertise
  • organise cooperation between the various parties involved in health and safety matters.

The health and safety manager therefore has an important role to play in defining the company's safety objectives, getting management to commit to them and communicating them to staff. Protect's safety expert and, in many companies, health and safety manager Mark Paavola shares her best tips that you, as a health and safety manager, can apply in your own work.
